WARNING: Data from Census 2000 are not directly comparable to previous censuses due to the new category of two-or-more races. The U.S. Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is currently working on "bridging methodologies" that can be used to provide better comparability between new and old censuses. The Washington State Office of Financial Management has provided tips on interpreting and comparing the data in its brief, Understanding Census 2000: Race Category Changes and Comparisons (pdf).

Notes: Data is from the U.S. decennial censuses, 1980 to 2010. Data analysis by staff of the Metropolitan Transportation Commission.
