This particular diversity index is based on five racial/ethnic categories:

  • White only, non-hispanic;

  • Asian or Hawaiian/Pacific Islander only, non-hispanic;
  • Hispanic/Latino, any race;
  • American Indian/Alaskan Native or Other Race or Two-or-More Race, non-hispanic.
